I was told today that AAC have been told they are no longer allowed to stock the Lunan before May. Something to do with smolts apparently. Anyone heard about this new rule?
MSS have tightened up the rules on stocking of all species, so this does not surprise me.
And after the Scottish Salmon Company`s recent foray into stocking wild fish systems, MSS are now moving to tighten up the rules even more.
Personally I'd like to see it stopped altogether, but this has to be a step in the right direction. The Club's motivation is to make permit sales more attractive but I wonder if having to wait until May might mean the moment is lost. Hope so because it is a massive waste of money.
I might go get a ticket then, at least I'll have the water to myself for April.

No you won't - I'm going out for my first cast of 2019 just after lunch.
It is glorious here today
It was dire. First blank of 2019.
The water is quite high and still very cold with the snow that fell last weekend melting. No sign of any fish movement at all. Lovely day though. :)
Where's your next planned blank Fred, the Luther will come up trumps for you.
