Came across this wee fella while walking in Northern Iceland.
Does anyone know what it is?
Billy

Thanks for that.

They nest in small numbers on the western isles. Better hope they don't choose to nest here on the mainland in any numbers. SNH would create a total exclusion zone north of The Great Glen.

Or the beach
That was on purpose, you are getting slow.
Depends on the level or status for the Druidibeag, there being a hierarchy for the designations with NNRs being higher than the basic SSSI. It may well still carry an SSSI designation but be downgraded from NNR. SNH should be able to say. I think that the international RAMSAR sites might carry the highest status in the UK. No doubt someone here will know the rankings.
So, we have
The Grebe Gestapo
The Phalarope Fascists
The Eagle Inquisitors
Any more?
Not forgetting ..... The Beech Injectorate
