This chap has begun to turn up at the feeder- a bit blurred (1/125, 300mm)

It looks like he got camera shy at the last minute and turned away :)

Try setting the camera to speed priority next time. Set it to the same or slightly faster than the focal length being used and let the camera take care of the rest. Works for me, sometimes :)

It was just a snatch shot through the window. He was pecking away furiously. It will take a few days until he gets used to me.
I just flicked the camera into "sports" mode.

Those are excellent photaes Andy, as are Ken's  :8)

My mate had a photae of one in his back garden last year !

Closest I've ever got to a GSW was when I heard them hammering away in the Croy hill's as a kid.

The british Wildlife photogaphy comp etition closes for entries on the 2nd June I think. If you have high resolution pictures it might be worth having a go.
