 .Its a old book by A.Edward Hobbs called Trout Of The Thames.Basically this guy spent 50+ years specimen trout fishing the thames .He didnt troll as it was banned  :roll: but spun deadbaits on spinning rigs he designed himself from boats and punts..He started fishing in the 1880s till the late 40s and began practising catch and release Which was unheard of for the time Tagging fish with silver tags he had made.In 55 years he caught 878 trout over 3lb with plenty in double figures.He was always on the lookout for reports of big fish and would seek out the captors and record them even the poached fish the biggest trout he witnessed was 17lb.3oz. also fish of 17lb 16lb15oz and 14lb 9oz.
A great wee book for a snowed in sunday and fairly easy to find on ebay etc.
