Wasn't sure where to put this. It is a more or less 1:1 "Clone" of Microsoft Office, with Extra Features!  Quite legal it appears. Works great and is free.

Looks good Mike.

I use this on my laptop.

It's also free, cross-platform and MS Office file format compatible. Whatever you choose,  buying MS Office is just nuts for personal use or even professional use.

Indeed!  I use a couple. lately I have mainly used Libre Office, is faster and has more and better options than Open Office, of course that is only useful if you actually need them.  The Kingsoft Suite does just about everything you could normally need, is compatible with the MS stuff, ( But doesn't work on Open Document Formats), and is only 70 MB. MS Office is over 700 MB!

If you just want a good word processor, extremely fast and with all the usual functions, and have no need of all the other bells and whistles, then this is good;

There is a great deal of really excellent freeware available now, pointless spending any money at all on most "standard" software, although I do donate to "freeware" that I like and use.

This is not freeware, but the best I have used, ( I have used a lot, including the expensive commercial suites), and not expensive;

Something else you might like is this;

http://www.innovative-sol.com/            also runs perfectly on x64 bit systems;

This is also absolutely first class if you work with images etc;

Lots of other good stuff around, but it can take a while to find the best and test it.  Bit of a hobby of mine so I have a lot. In fact this machine runs only freeware, and I have not yet found anything I couldn't do with it.  Most of the freeware I use is better than the commercial alternatives.

Hi Mike,

I re-downloaded this from the given link but it still says this is a 30 day trial, any ideas ?

Seems a pretty good utility though.

They have changed their policy on downloads.  Get the separate components you require here;

http://win.softpedia.com/dyn-search.php?search_term=kingsoft&x=0&y=0

Those are;

http://www.softpedia.com/get/Office-tools/Office-suites/Kingsoft-Spreadsheets.shtml

http://www.softpedia.com/get/Office-tools/Office-suites/Kingsoft-Presentation.shtml

The full office packet is now a trial.  The separate components are basically identical just not in a packet.
