The loch s stocked with rainbows and some small browns as well as having wild browns, pike and perch. So it might be a wild fish, no way of telling. If it was stocked it will have been as a small fish. As you can see by the condition the feeding is phenomenal. Millions of water snails in there. Back in the day when we caught big browns there you could feel the snails in the bellies of the fish when you picked them up. Apparently it was snails that fed the huge browns in Loch Damph up at Torridon

Take a look at this Rescobie brown, caught on a dead bait aimed at pike. 20lb 1 ounce. What a belter! Caught by Scott McGregor of Arbroath. The club used to have pike killing days back then that's all stopped now. can't see fish like this rising to a size 16 DHE  ;D

The only standing up we do is when we change on the oars, usually every 30 mins.

Even then its more of a shuffle about than standing.

Some can't cast sitting down or at least can't cast as far as they can standing up even although you don't have to cast far in a boat to cover a lot of water. That's kinda the point of a boat.  ::)

On the loch I am at most weeks in the season we have 5 boats. 4 for members so 8 folk max, by and large. The 5th is the "Public Boat" bookable by any anglers. If there are folk standing up it will be in that public boat and very often both standing and the boat rocking about!
Quite incredible.

"If you want to stand up I can put you ashore" was the usual way of putting a stop to that nonsense

Thank you :) There were about twenty in that field and half a dozen in the lambing shed.
