The jingler if you read the angling press is an altogether New  pattern. I have just read a great wee book by WH Lawrie where he literally tells you how to tie a nondescript March Brown imitation.

Reminds me of my pal who worked for a well known retailer for 30 years. He told me he'd seen anything that was new twice before.

It's a bit like the crippler, 'new fly' they're a nice fly but  I'm not convinced it's the first time someone's thought to use pheasant shoulder as a hackle.
I was looking for that book online the other day, bit of a collectors item

Is it? I got it in caithness last year for about £3. Lovely wee book.

If it's 'scottish wet flies' by wh lawrie the cheapest I can find it is £33 quid on amazon! Nice find at £3. I thought I could steal some traditional patterns from it but at that price I'll continue trawling the internet

Nope my book is practical angling hints.  Still a good find though.

I looked at that last night. I see he did a book on borders rivers which sounds good.

Still a bit rich for my pocket, was hoping for around the £3 mark but surely that's impossible

To go back to the fly I googled what a jingler looks like, actually looks a nice fly
