When fishing up there where do you stay?

By the way just to be clear that joking aside I have no issue with campervans, in fact with soaring costs and lack of opportunities I sympathise hugely with the campervanner. It's often a case of van-it  or don't go. Screw camping, that's for the penniless and the young and stupid.  ;D

I have on many occasions rented cottages, last was Corriekinloch in 2016. Back then for my preferred 2nd week of July the cost was £430 ish for 7 nights. Not too bad at all.

The same week now costs £800. :o

So what do you do and have you found costs have exploded?

Fishtales

I'm still young and stupid Fred, so I still camp :)

Costs have exploded and hotel availability can be non-existent at times. In recent years it has been necessary to book cottages a long time in advance. Living not far away, it used to be possible to see a period of good weather coming and find somewhere to stay at short notice; not any more.

I've booked a static caravan for a week at Kinlochbervie in June. £350.

Wildfisher

Unless you are prepared to risk booking 6 months in advance, then only real answer must surely be a campervan?

Anywhere i've stayed the costs have gone up year on year. Suppose it's only to be expected now with the way things like gas & electricity have gone up.

Wildfisher

A   few places I have stayed charged for gas, oil electric separately  Alan. Corriekinloch always did that.

George is nipping my head already about getting away, but we will be camping :) That's 'wild' camping :)
