This fur also comes in a range of colours.



The piece shown below is a dark chocolate brown fur, very soft underfur with good guard hairs for hackled fur flies. May also be used as a substitute for Sable if required. As ever, the exact colour and nature of the fur depends on the general colour of the animal, and whereabouts on the animal it was taken. This is a piece from the back of the animal. Both the underfur and guard hair from this pelt are invaluable to me for a number of flies. They come closest to some insect colours, and of course are close to similar feather hackle shades which are often used. The fur is more robust however, and has a better action in the water.
