Row 1 Shows a set of eight typical Eden Flies. The
numbers run from left to right.

DRESSING AND SEASON.

No. 1. Light Snipe and Yellow. Small covert feather from under the wing of a snipe, body and head yellow silk. Spring and Autumn, but a useful fly throughout the season.

No. 2. Water-hen and Red. Small greyish feather from the under coverts of a Waterhen's wing, body and head red silk. Summer and Autumn.

No. 3. Water-hen and Yellow. Small greyish feather from the under coverts of a Waterhen's wing, body and head yellow silk. Summer and Autumn. An excellent fly throughout the season.

No. 4. Partridge and Orange. Small mottled feather from the neck or back of a Partridge, body and head orange silk. One of the best spring flies. March, April and May.

No. 5. Blue Hawk. Small marginal covert feather from the upper side of the wing of a Merlin, body mole's fur ribbed with yellow silk. Season, March and April.

No. 6. Light Starling. Small covert feather from under the wing of a starling, body and head yellow silk. Season, July, August, September.

No. 7. Dark Snipe and Purple. Small marginal covert feather from upper side top of the wing of a Snipe, body and head purple silk. Season, March and April.

No. 8. Light Woodcock. Small covert feather from under the wing of a Woodcock, body and head yellow silk. Season, Spring, Summer, Autumn.
