Title: Skalka Hooks
Post by: Amadan on June 28, 2010, 12:17:33 PM
Hiya,

Does anyone here use Skalka hooks? They do some nice barbless ones. I think they are all the rage in Eastern Europe etc.

Anyway, if anyone uses them I would be grateful for some information on hook size- I am interested in the Skalka Barbless G hook which is a scud pattern- I need to know whether the size 16 of this is genuinely a size 16 (eg comparable to say a kamasan b100 size 16). I have heard the sizes might be a little different but am not sure which way.

Thanks for your help.

Martin.

Thanks.
I've ordered some size 16s that I was going to try with 2.5mm tungsten beads (making little buggy things for the duo in fast water). I think I can see what you mean re the gape when bead added. I'll just have to see how I get on. If they no good like that then I guess I'll find another use for em.

Martin.

Just a note for others: the skalka hook sizes come out much bigger than kamasan b100s: size 16 skalka more like a size 12 b100. Will fond something to tie on em eventually I suppose...
