I mentioned to Paul (bibio1) that I was doing some salmon fishing this year. He said he'd send me some flies. I got back from the west coast yesterday to find a box full waiting for me.

Thanks Paul, that is a great selection of fine flies. Very generous of you.  :D

All you need now is a good splash of water a few fish and the know how and you are set.  Very generous gesture.

They look great - inasmuch as I know very little about salmon flies so really, I mean "very pretty"

But yes, most generous :)

Paul - I'm quite partial to Klinkhammers when you have a spare minute ;)

I notice some of those salmon flies are on Partridge Salar hooks... just chuck them out, they have to be the worst hooks ever made.

If you're chucking out any salars, I'll have 'em. Great hooks :)
I understand the inward curve of the points got a bit out of hand on some batches, salmon-land does seem to be divided over them.
But they were a massively successful product, and I certainly have never had a problem with them.

Feckin Hell, you are one lucky man Fred, some stoaters there. All you need is a fish which will be the hard part.
