Dark March Brown Spider.

The March Brown makes a return in September although it is usually a shade darker than its early season brother.

I've tied this one on a size 12 to get a better picture but you might find that a 14 is more to the taste of the troot.  For me the spider often outfishes the winged fly and is much easier to tie.

Thread - Dark Olive
Body - lightly dubbed hare lug
Rib - fine gold wire
Hackle - red game behind partridge.  Partridge should be straggly.
