Title: Pike Flies
Post by: Fishtales on April 19, 2005, 09:09:14 PM
I don't personally fish for pike but I know a few people that do. One mate uses flies between 2" and 6" on a 9' #8 weight rod. His flies are tied on low water salmon hooks but no bigger than an 0/2. They are tied light with very little water absorbing material so that they cast better.

For a few sites on patterns have a look below.

Hi Acefisher,

In the winter I do a lot of pike fishing with the fly (streamer).
I use mostly an 7 wt. 9ft. rod floating line with streamers about 4inch long.

Th colours that i use is mostly red and yellow (bucktail).
We in Holland do a lot of Pike flyfishing in the winter here and last winter I had two pikes at about 10 pounds (95/96 cm).
Herewith a site with some streamers, when you click on the foto there wil be an tying instruction.
