Tied a few of these today and thought I would try a wee step by step if others wanted to try some.

Pearly Willie Ross
Hook- Kamasan B175 size 12-8
Thread- Black
Tail - Golden Pheasant Tippets
Body- Medium pearl tinsel
Rib- Copper wire
Hackles- Hen - one Black one Red
Step 1
Tie in seven or eight tippets just before the hook bend

Step 2
Tie in the copper wire

Step 3
Next tie in the pearly tinsel
[attachimg=3]
Step 4
Now with touching turns- bring the pearly tinsel up the hook length stopping three quarters of the length of the hook and tie off.

Step 5
Now in the opposite direction wrap the copper wire round the tinsel body and tie off with a couple of turns of thread.

Step 6
First tie in your Black Hen hackle
[attachimg=6]
Step 7
Make two or three turns with the black before tying off and trimming

Step 8
Now tie on the red hen hackle
[attachimg=8]
Step 9
Three or four turns of the red before tying off and trimming
[attachimg=9]
Step 10
Finally pull the hackles back towards the hook bend whilst forming the head with turns of black thread then whip finish

Aye, I tie them like that too- Pearly Pennels.
Hopefully some of you guys will give them a try as it seems I won't get a chance to wet one for a wee while due to hurting my arm.
