Pale/light grey seals fur

Got the Trout From a Boat book for Christmas. In the book the author describes a fly that requires dubbed light/pale grey seals fur body. For the life of me I can't track down a supplier of this other than in the dubbing box sets you can buy for ?10+. Can anybody point me in the direction of a supplier please?

You could use Mole fur instead. I have grey seal fur that I have had for a while but I can't find a seller online.

Do not know what fly the original poster is intending to tie as he does not tell us. So where did the Sandfly appear from. Mole is nothing like Dyed Grey Seal Fur. Mole is a very fine dubbing & whilst it has a "grey" look about it look closely at the natural pelt & is has a bluish tinge. Would it be a Grey Monkey perchance? that you want to tie as you mention Trout From A Boat book & the G.M. is an old Loch Leven pattern.

You will need to contact him as his "materials" page seems to be missing. He dyes his own Seal Fur & I'll bet he has Grey. If I can find any in my box I'll send you some. Not a common dyed colour though.

Sorry re the name of the fly - have lent the book to a pal and can't remember what Dennis Moss (?) the author called his wee grey dry - basically all his dry's are variations on a theme of Bits. The fly in questions is a bit like a grey duster, but tied with carrot-shaped pale grey seals fur body and a badger cock hackle - that's it. Dennis has an article in this month's T&S where he describes a grey duster, but in his book he calls the fly something different. Only difference between the two is in the mag he clips the underside of the hackle and in the book he doesn't. In any event, he literally raves about the simplicity and success of this dry on Irish Loughs, so I thought it would be worth tying up a few, as he clearly isn't a man given to excessive superlatives! Once I get the book back I'll post the name and his official dressing.
