Not used it, and this link is effectively just an advert for another product-

I use Wise Registry Cleaner

Though you may well have real registry problems, I always doubt "pop ups" that tell you that you have a problem (how did they know that?), that it is in the registry, and offer the "only" solution.

Proceed with care, and wait until the real experts get online and give you a proper answer!
'til a voice as bad as conscience,
rang interminable changes,
on an everlasting whisper,
day and night repeated so-
"Something hidden, go and find it,
Go and look beyond the ranges,
Something lost beyond the ranges,
Lost and waiting for you,
Go."

dont know a lot about computers but was advised to try avast but after a few days of slow and shite computer got rid of it. uninstall it and see how you go.

You appear to have a virus or malware installed on your computer and so you will need to run a virus/malware program to remove it.

Instal either Malwarebytes

https://www.malwarebytes.org/

or Microsoft Security Essentials

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows/security-essentials-download

The Microsoft one you can keeprunning in the background and it will protect your system in real time.

To clean the registry try CCleaner.

I use the free one and run it every so often.
Don't worry, be happy.

thanks for reply had a look at the Microsoft one I'm on fire fox does it make a difference and my security avast which is easiest as explained earlier I'm no Guru    seems very complicated as it is asking me to remove all other antivirus security

If you install Microsoft Security you wont need Avast. Running two anti-virus programs together can cause problems on the system that is why it is asking you to remove Avast.

Are you sure Avast is up to date? If it is then run a full scan using it and see if it finds anything.

If all is clear then install Malwarebytes and run a full scan with it as it does a better job. Between the two of them they should find anything lurking on the system.
Don't worry, be happy.

avast scan complete no threats found

I use Avast and find it excellent. I'd recommend you schedule a boot time scan which Avast allows you to do. Next time you boot up your PC it'll scan objects before they have a chance to start up as some malware and other viruses avoid detection by standard scans once they're actually running, and since they often infect a file you'd expect to run there isn't often a clue in the Task Manager.

I also use CCleaner for registry maintenance. As Sandy says, the free version works well.
