HELP!
like most folk I have hundreds of cassette tapes. Now I'm not wanting to convert them all just about a dozen tapes or so of outdoor/ mountain documentaries amongst others Glencoe, The Merrick, Beinn Eighe, The Cobbler, Ben Nevis, Lochnagar, The Pentlands, Ben More [Mull] and a brilliant play I recorded from Radio 4 called the Glasgow Climbing Club. So recently whilst in Aldi I noticed they had a wee cassette converter for £6.99. Reading the instructions it all appeared so easy.
You guessed it when I got home and tried it I had problems.
The converter/cassette player model is called Envivo. The theory is you download audacity plug the usb cable from the converter into the laptop and use audacity to record.
However the dialogue boxes etc they show in the instructions don't match up with what I have on my screen.
I tried all sorts of settings etc but still no joy. In the end I just gave up but rather than take the thing back to the shop i kept it as it's still a handy wee cassette player which I can listen to the cassettes on if I so wish.
But It would have been a whole lot better if I could get them converted to mp3 and onto my pc and ipod.
So Can anyone help with how to convert tapes to mp3.
Perhaps there is an easy way!

Plug the cassette player into the computer and use Windows Media Player to convert them. The cassette player should show up in the play panel. I take it it is a USB player?
Don't worry, be happy.

Carried it in full, then carry it out empty.

gonnae no bother!     its not showing up.

It should do. I have my tablet plugged into the laptop just now and it is showing up in the media player. It should work the same as if you had put a cd in the computer. Try playing the cassette while it is plugged in to the computer and see what happens :)

Fred; that looks exactly like the converter I have. Thanks Sandy for trying to help. I've already tried most of those things . I will try again later.

thank you Sandy I had another look through that stuff and somehow i am currently recording my Beinn Eighe documentary.
Probably just down to my incompetence and fear of f****n my laptop settings and stuff.
I will let you know how it sounds when it's complete.
Thanks once again.
