How would you set up your tank lights?

Currently I have sunrise at 06.00 and sunset at 22.00 at each end the lights ramp up and down over an hour.

As these fish are equatorial or as near as damn it, might 12 hour cycles  be more appropriate or am I over complicating it?  :D

I know nothing about that disease but your photos look like some sort of spinal deformity and not a lot like this.

I think it can affect other tetras. I don't know too much about it. Apart that you can't treat it and it stays in the tank until it's been dried out.

Just spotted this sore lump on one of the Neons. With the shape of the fish and the sore could it be NTD?

Water test fine, first residents moved in:

12 Neons
3 Albino Bristlenose Plecos (sold as "marigold" plecs)
6 Corydoras sterbai

all very small, but settled and eating.

St Johns and Toftingall good for mayfly. Hugo Ross's shop now is closed but go via the phone number. St Johns get a permit from the caravan site shop just nearby.

Aquariums & Fish Keeping / Water powered tank vac.
Last post by Wildfisher - Yesterday at 09:30:41 AM
Got one of these. Remarkably efficient.

Couples to a tap and uses the water pressure to create a vacuum and a siphon. No need for a head of water, this works even if the inlet and outlet are on the same  level. Flick 2 switches to reverse the flow and refill the tank. coms with various fittings and standard hose connectors.
