Post by: Fishtales on September 24, 2008, 07:31:43 PM
Heard the first skein of geese going over today, two actually although I only saw one. It is definitely autumn now :)

I would have thought most of them would be away by now, especially the adults, the young may hang about a little longer though.

Our Robin never left, he just goes quiet in the summer. He has his voice back now though. Him and the Dunnock have a singing competition before chasing each other through the trees and shrubs :) I also heard the Wren today for the first time since the spring. I don't know who he was scolding but he wasn't pleased at something :)

The huge flights of geese into Montrose Basin (usually second week in September) always reinforce that Autumn is here. Saying that the Robin has been giving it laldy since the start of the month.
