What do you think this is

Just a bit of fun.

In amongst a load of unsorted pictures taken in spring, I came across shots of a wee pond near the river. Looking closely and zooming right in I was surprised by these photographs as I had never seen one of these birds in this area.

Can you identify the unusual wader with the ginger heid from this distant shot (taken from about 400 yards away).
