Title: Acronyms
Post by: Fishtales on April 18, 2011, 10:00:19 AM
One for Donald.

Acronyms can be a good thing or can confuse. Using LDO, GHRE or LOL can speed up th flow but if the reader doesn't know what it means then the meaning is lost.

There is a way to make it easier for the reader though a bit of extra work for the writer.

[acronym=Large Dark Olive]LDO[/acronym]

The above code placed around the acronym with the meaning typed in gives this, LDO. As you can see there is a faint dotted line below the LDO letters and by passing the cursor over the letters shows the 'Large Dark Olive' text making it simple for the uninitiated reader to figure out  what it actually means.

Try it the next time you want to use an acronym. Have a look at my last post in the GPS thread for an example :)

I hope that helps.

Could you give us the waypoints and co-ordinates for the post Sandy, I'm having a bit of bother finding it. :lol:
