Looking through some archived photos I came across these. Imitation Jungle Cock Eyes. I used a couple and then forgot about them so they must still be knocking about amongst my fly tying stuff

Are they plastic like most of the current ones or are they dyed feathers, they look nice, I have a small piece of the real stuff, but rather low grade, I tend to only use them on Salmon flies these days.

They are plastic. They come in sheets and you pop them out.

They look good, but are you still allowed to say jungle cock.

They aren't really as good as they look, I think that was why I stopped using them

When I was a member of the Brechin AC one of the Salmon fishers would only use flies with jungle cock on them, he thought they gave the fish a target. Not too sure about his theory, but he did catch more Salmon than I did.

Under UV spectrum the feather white area is a target, but modern UV reflective materials can achieve the same function as occurs naturally with Jungle cock.
