We have been out weekly on the club loch in the Trossachs, mixed brownies and rainbows and boats only. Some pretty good outings. Ospreys back a few weeks ago and good to be out on the water.
Also now in another club with a sheltered reservoir with bows and a few tigers and boats only. We have both had one each of the handful of tigers which were put in a few years ago at 7 to 8lbs as an extra and all on a CnR basis. Both ones were seriously strong and now at 9lbs or more. Quite an experience!!
Not yet been out for brownies only but up in Caithness shortly and expecting Hawthorn flies to be the main feature.

Just one trip for me to a favoured hill loch at 1800 ft.
Much colder than I had expected but I picked up 6 very lively trout. All taken on a dry that was cast to a rising fish.
Great day out but the treks are getting harder🙄.

I had an interesting discussion with a squad of squaddies, their NCO and an arsehole guide/instructor on the Conon last week. I strongly suspect the instructor will not be back. He picked on the wrong one to try and exercise his rights whilst forgetting the bit about his responsibilities.

So much for non-disturbance zones for vulnerable birds !!!

Had an overnighter at a hill loch two weeks ago and didn't catch anything. By the time I got there I was too tired to fish long anyway :) I have a video that I am trying to edit down from enormous to manageable. I think it is at one hour long at the moment and still has a fair bit to go :)

Me for a start!

Almost June and I have not wet a line. I was absolutely scunnered  with the weather and floods in March and April scuppering my plans, lost the will to fish and just put my limited energies into other things - hence no reports or videos from me.

I very much doubt if I'll fish at all now in 2024, but you never know!

Almost £300 in club memberships wasted - won't be joining any clubs again!  ;D

Perhaps a season off will rekindle my enthusiasm, if not I'll start selling off my gear next year!  ;D

What about you?
