It's the sheer numbers of fish that is astonishing. They come and go but when a new run comes in it's a wall of salmon.

Fred going back a few years now but on one of our trips to Alaska there was one year over 100,000 fish per day entering the system yes, a day not a year it was unbelievable to see and one of the finest eating fish known to man, like everywhere they too have had a decline in some of the species especially the large Chinooks

I did wonder if the landed gentry in Scotland had this species returning how would they deal with it !

The absolute numbers of fish is staggering Colin. Perhaps the mass introduction of Pacific salmon would be the answer for Scotland's denuded ecosystem.
