Arctic Fox is now used extensively for various things, dubbing, streamers, etc etc. The animals are farmed extensively for their fur. It may be obtained easily. Various firms supply it to the trade and it is dyed into many colours and shades. It is not specified in any of the older British patterns, because it was simply not available when these patterns were designed. It is an ideal substitute for many soft fine furs, and for blending with other natural furs. Usually the pure white fox fur is used for dyeing. Some furs have other "casts" of colour and are not easy to dye at all. Even a slight grey cast will prevent one from obtaining some colours. There is a vast range of this fur available, body hair and tails. The fur is usually of medium to good quality. The length varies considerably. For streamers.etc , tail fur is often used.

First of all, when you buy this stuff you have to make sure you are actually getting the right stuff. This was known as Alopex lagopus but it has been reclassified, and is now referred to as  Vulpes lagopus

It is also known as "Shadow fox", "white fox", "polar fox" or "snow fox"

Worth noting here that the fur trade uses various names for furs etc. Always best to check the stuff to see what it actually is before buying it.
