What was the first fly you tied?...

And do you still have it?. 

As per my previous post, I'm new to tying, after a couple of trips to GAC and some online orders, I seem to have everything for a few patterns. My first fly will be a PTN, mainly as it looks fairly simple, and I'll use/lose lots of them!.

I'll post up a pic once I get it tied, and work out how to post an image!.

To be honest I cant remember! However I do recall buying  the flytying kit from Crocketts hardware/Ironmongers  in Glasgow which had a hunting/ fishing dept upstairs.

Carrot nymph which I copied from one of the fishing mags I think. Which was a tapered body of bright orange seals fur, gold tinsel/ wire (cant remember) and pheasant tail thorax cover. No idea how they came up with the name  Caught a stockie rainbow on it but had only tied one amd it swallowed it deep. Recovered the fly when gutting it. No idea what happened to it after that

I think my first fly was a black and peacock spider. Also long gone.
