Title: Assynt accomodation?
Post by: Dano on June 13, 2012, 02:42:13 PM
Hi
I'm looking at a doing a fishing trip to Assynt over the summer and was wondering if you could recomend a good hotel or Inn or B&B.  So long as its got access to good fishing, a good bar or pub close by - with decent food and whiskey etc I'm a happy man :D :D

BTW This is my first ever trip to Scotland!  Reg the fishing I'm happy catching loadsa smallish completely wild trout that I've heard so much about.  Not after the big fellas, I'll leave that to the experts!  What I'm after is the real wild loch experiance,  and a good bit of hiking before fishing will only add to the joy of it all...

Thanks in advance guys
Dan :D

Hi Dan,

I've never fished Assynt but a few people have recommended the lodge and the hotel below.  I've got a week booked at the hotel in August.

I'm told the lodge is cheaper but a bit more basic.  If staying at the lodge you need to take your meals at the hotel which is next door and if looking for a boat you can also book one through the hotel.  Fishing wise you're spoiled for choice, if you phone the hotel they can put you in touch with a chap who's happy to advise.

Predictive text Paul :)

The tent is the way to go. More fishing time and less walking up hills and through rough ground :)
