Have a go!
Anyone can do this by the way, go design and submit your own quiz. It has to be approved by a moderator before it appears just in case there are any inappropriate and offensive stockie bashing questions tucked away in there.
I'll have a go later on, but haresear's score is going to be hard to beat. :D
I got 7 in the Python quiz, but a few were lucky guesses.
I hope you're not suggesting Alex casts wide shadow.

Ooh you bitch
I had more than a couple of lucky guesses on that quiz.
Alex
I'm glad I have broad shoulders for these quizzes :)
the quizzes are great fun and certainly not to be taken over seriously! :D
I've added a new quiz- some challenging stuff on UK Roads and Motorways.
No high speed typing to do, they are all multiple choice.
Have fun.
Now that's tough. I got 1 out of 15

I got 4 which is pretty good as the only two roads I know are the A82 & A85
I've lived in Aberdeenshire for 30 years. What's a road? :D

I don't think I'll be taking on the Eggheads anytime soon :(
Keep 'em coming :D

I have hunners more. :8) The quiz system is great though isn't it. :8) I have always avoided bells and whistles on our forum, fancy themes, xmas decorations and other such utter shite that are no more than an attempt to cover up lack of substance, content and members - but the quiz IS a great adjunct! The fact any registered member can create his / her own and that anyone can play when they feel like it really sets it apart. It is very popular. :D
Got a new one planned- Scottish Legends- I am fairly certain it will be educational at least.
I seem to think that time spent reading the correct answers does not count as part of your completion time, but I am not sure of this. In the quiz I plan, reading the correct answers will be fairly informative and, hey, this is not competitive right?
Nae much!
There you go, new Scottish Legends quiz is up and running.

After looking at some of the results I have decided not to play this one. Roobarb got 10. It would be the ultimate humiliation to get gubbed by an Englishman in a Scottish quiz.
Good quiz. I think I knew one question.
I like em difficult.

Wait-for-it: a hundred 20/20's coming up after Les underestimates the Proggy nerdiness of fellow forumites ;)
Seems I know less about Genesis than I thought I did ........................................ :(
I tried not to make it difficult but tbh I thought it might prove a little trickier than an "easy" rating ;) It's hard to judge these things when designing and rating them though. I've done a few pub quizzes in the past and it's amazing what people know - and sometimes what they don't! For instance I've bombed on a couple of forum quizzes when I thought "this is right up my street"! I just wish there was a way to cover one's tracks but the trail of shame remains for all to see! ;)
a new quiz has been added by Inchlaggen - "Theme tunes" :D
"Write the feem tewn, sing the feem tewn".
My performance in "Theme tunes" was embarrassing, even the ones I got right were mainly lucky guesses. I'm really quite glad in a way though.

Perhaps, but the interesting thing is that if it had been put up as a sound quiz- play you 20 seconds of the tune and ask you to name the programme- you'd have gotten most of them. I Googled one on the basis that it was a very memorable theme and was astounded on discovering what it's proper title was.
A quick one here- no Google allowed- name the "Son" in "Steptoe and Son"?
You mean 'arold? Harry H Corbett.

Well I didn't terribly well at that ............ but its a fantastic quiz :D

I should have finished the Morrissey autobiography first, but its surprisingly depressing :D

Good work guys
I said to Ken when he told me he was posting a Burns quiz that, despite having lived in Scotland for 25 years I had little hope of getting even one answer correct, since, although i've enjoyed the Burns poetry i've read I haven't been a devotee or studied him to any extent, so I was utterly amazed, and indeed pleased, to score 8! (viva la dumb luck! )
Quote from: Alan on January 25, 2014, 12:03:44 AM
I got 5 in the Burns quiz, a new high score for me
Michael Jackson was planning an album based on Burns songs! Tommy Hilfigger is a descendant of Robert Burns!, Jean Armour bore him 9 children! and when the hell did he go to Jamaica?
Hey, don't give the answers away. But, yes, I checked them out before I posted them. But he did not go to Jamaica, nor did I say so, the success of the Kilmarnock edition meant that he did not take up the job offer in Jamaica.
The Jackson claim is via David Guest, Hilfiger's claim is via his mother and features on his website. Not all Burns/ Armour children survived the last was born on the day of Burns funeral. The total number of children he had is a matter of dispute, 12-14 seems about average.
Thank goodness for multiple choice questions :)
I got 6 and all were guesses :)
