Bugger - that's where I'm going wrong.

I've been using these

[attachimg=1]

They make a hell of  noise  when casting and the leader twist is outrageous.

Don't float very well either......... I know, I've tried loads, the brass ones are no better than the green ones, and they knacker your teeth;

It was no better when I switched to nymph fishing. I was hopelessly distracted.

You need to smother those in sinkant for them to be any good, otherwise they just seem to hover above the water.

Hamadryades will do that. Terrible affinity for trees.

I'll try using one of those  fast sinking leaders and see how I get on.  I have heard they are a bit dear though.

I thank God you don't do stockies Fred - your interpretation of Booby fishing might have breached your forum user agreement.

I think I'll get the old 1970s Rod out again.

This one had a few bonny catches from Sweden and New Zealand.

If these get any worse, your new Global Moderator will hit the big red button for the first time!

Actually my quizzing was in pre-Moderator times.
But thanks for a good idea, I'll see if my powers extend to quiz cheating.

Ahhhhh The Power!!!!!

It's not the power that's important, it's the health and long life.

( It is commonly averred that the way to both is moderation in all things. So a "global" moderator must be just about immortal).

I was immortal when I was 20 but I gave up on the idea once I realized I'd turned   50.

I'm still just an eighteen year old struggling to come to terms with a 60 year old body, I suppose it is eternal youth of a sort.........

18, I knew u were much older than me, thanks for confirming it. For years I wondered what happens when you grow up, would it be like a bolt of lightning, a sudden eureka moment or simply waking up one morning feeling very mature. Nah, none of those, its simply a slow burning candle that one day,  you realise its never going to happen and in that instant, it has, well sort off. :tongue2
