Could anyone recommend any fly boxes which they have come across which are suitable for pike flies, average size of 5 to 6 inches
cheers
Rather than "std" fly type boxes you might want to think about a box that is designed for spinners/lures. There are plenty around that would be ideal.
Std fly box: would suit but expensive here in UK

Lure box:

You get the gist.
Tight Lines
Ive used a wallet called a "finsport" for Pike and saltwater flies for a while, works very good but they are pricey because they are aimed at fly anglers.
Sea fishing rig wallets do the same job, plastic sleeves take loads of flies and extra pockets for wire etc-

Thanm you for the response. Inchlaggen those boxes are crackers but Iam looking for something light and not too bulky, the snowbee wallet looks just what I need.
FWIW I use a 99p plastic 'tupperware' tub out of tesco's. Not pretty but its light and does the job well enough.

for the real biggies i use zip-loc poly bags. make sure they're the branded zip-locs tho'! obviously you need to make sure the flies are dried out properly beforehand. that snowbee wallet looks damned good, too!
for the bulkier, more "delicate" flies such as spun deer hair bodies/heads, mega-hackles etci've recently come across these: http://www.airflofishing.com/airflo-accessories-fly-boxes-aquatec-fly-box.cfm (http://www.airflofishing.com/airflo-accessories-fly-boxes-aquatec-fly-box.cfm)
they are (as far as i can make out) exactly the same as the c &f grand slam boxes costing three times as much. i had two c&f boxes already, so was able to make a direct comparison.
currently highland industrial supplies is doing the biggest version for £8.50. they are waterproof, i've tested them
my favourite version of this box has one very deep side for big flies and a slightly shallower side. they will fit in large jacket pockets (vision etc) and medium + size waist/chest packs
i use an old video case.
