Ah memories- it looked like that when I joined in 05
A lot of names gone from the list but some welcome newbies.
Issue haven't changed - I'll guarantee we were telling all who would listen about bloody Salmon Farms.
Catch and Release probably not as wide spread - still not sure if this helps well populated remote lochs🤐
A few hotels and lots of tackle shops gone.
A rise in coverage of river fishing over the years.
Rise in Dry Fly on lochs
Czech nymphs et al
Not much change in Salmon crowds attitude - ask for help to save the fish then scrape you off their shoes!
Accommodation and arrangements for permits still total crap, with a few exceptions
Enjoying a dram after a day with pals still brilliant
Cheers
Solid foundations !!!!
Just 29 members back then

I came along about 10 years ago, to my recollection it was as it is now, other than the boring grumpy old farts that are now members (me included) 😊
Don't know when I came along but was way after that board, Having said many boards at that time had the same format.
Not so many left now a few like ours endure others fall by the wayside.
Tight Lines
Checked my Profile Jan 2006 for me. Best thing I ever did

Oldest fishing ones I know are this and Fishing The Fly. Mike's board has gone through a few incarnations but has always been very quiet. Both our forum and Mike's are older than Fly Forums which was good until it became a commercialised money making farce.
Most forums are dead in the water. Puss-Book has killed them.
If you click on "profile" key, then "summary", it will tell you when you joined. New Years Eve 2006 was my joining day.
You must have been pissed Richard :makefun

Half 3 in the afternoon Fred, but yes I might have been lol.
August 06, 2005, was my joining date ....still the best forum site on the go a few have came and gone love to pop in on a daily basis
I think I joined first time around about September 2005 as I went on my first Stravaig in the October to the Crask. I rejoined when I read that the General had passed on. I realized that I missed not being a part of it.

I was a member of the FF@ mailing list (Actually would still be a member but recently the listserver dumped my email address for some reason and I haven't got around to signing back up) from about 1995ish. It was a mailing list from back in the days when we were on dialup and modems so there was no scope for lots of bandwidth or pictures or anything like that. Most of the members were in the USA, in fact back in those days almost everyone on the internet was in the USA, and they were also mostly in universities as they tended to be the only places with decent "internet" access. I've a feeling that back when I joined the list had been going for about 5 - 6 years and it could produce several hundred emails each day. These days the number of members has fallen and the number of posts is probably down to 10 -15 per week. The list was, and I think still is, hosted on a mail server in the Uni of Kentucky and I think that it is only a few old hands that keep it going, mostly to keep in touch with a few mates.
It is really quite remarkable that FF@ is still going, at least in name, when you consider how the internet has changed in that time. For me 1995 doesn't seem that long ago but I'm sure the concept of mailing lists probably died many moons ago. I wonder how many are left? It has a sort of web page, I don't imagine this has been updated in 15 or 20 years but who knows...

I joined the FFF about a month or two earlier and over the years they have banned me at least 12 times!
Stop showing off.
They banned me for giving away a free fly line to someone who was about to buy a line from Mike Barrio. Now I'm not saying Mike Barrio had anything to do with it, no way on earth I'd ever suggest that. Never ever ever.
Fred
I am about to buy a Barrio flyline!
Need a #7 Inter for chasing sjo orret in the fjords!
Been here about 10 years, loads of great threads and a lot of advice over the years. I have been a little controversial sometimes (such as my stance on keeping fish) but on the whole have had a ball.
Current on probation, again, so not always so good (in some people's eyes). Nevertheless, I am here, it wouldn't be the same if we all got along all of the time :D

Not bad for lower end lines- good business too - buy for 5 sell for 35  - I tend to buy Rio and SA now. They are worth the extra. It's all in the coating. :8)
