That's my last visit until there is more water. That upper stretch is good until late May by which time all the better fish have dropped downstream into machete country. Big water can see some return though.
Unlucky Fred, funny how we fish the same pools differently with a nymph, dries the same, but I often use light unweighted nymphs down stream Czech style, usually works, but not always. I've not even been to look at the lower river this year, but that weed last year was spreading as you say, reminds me of southern chalk streams, we can but hope the fishing gets to be the same.
