I think it's a nostalgia thing, a reminder of the pre-woke days when things just worked. Even workers.  ;D

I have always liked steam, used to go to traction engine rallies too, went to see the Clyde pffer steam boat and the Waverley. In the depths of winter I occasionally muck about with model engines too, I built one out of brass years ago.
