This has probably been brought up here before but is there a humane way of getting rid of the rakes of mice that I have running about in the loft, or am I stuck with the gits?

Wildfisher

Moose traps, it's the only way.

Inchlaggan

Mouse killers not humane traps, Baited with peanut butter or melted chocolate.
Stop up any obvious access holes with wire wool.
'til a voice as bad as conscience,
rang interminable changes,
on an everlasting whisper,
day and night repeated so-
"Something hidden, go and find it,
Go and look beyond the ranges,
Something lost beyond the ranges,
Lost and waiting for you,
Go."

The first year in the house where we now live had a huge infestation of mice, we got bags of poison from my father in law who used to put them about the farm, that got rid of the mice. That summer was hot and what happened next was a shock, the mice and may be their big brothers had crawled off and died, we then had to put up with hundreds of blue bottles who had fed on the carcases crawling out the loft door and the air vents, never used poison again always go for quick snap traps and if you stay on top of them when the mice start coming in after harvest you will only get the odd one or two

Noddy

Best bait for mouse traps is Nutella.

The traps we use have their own little pot of hormones to attract them, saves having to bait them
