I seem to be having yet another PC " moment ". This one feels dodgy.
This afternoon , on trying to log into my e-mail account I was asked to verify my password [ but not my e-mail address ]. I did. I was then asked to confirm the " security code " sent to me. None had been sent, unless to my e-mail address, which I can't open. I switched off at once, because this all seemed peculiar  and a bit suspicious to me.
I've made three further attempts to log in but get the same messages. Can anyone tell me whether this seems normal or not, please ?

It's a Hotmail account and I use Internet Explorer as my browser. [ I hope I'm using the correct language here. I'm not au fait at all with all the terminologies and their meanings, tho' I do nice work with quill and parchment !  :)].

I don't have hotmail. If you have another device in the house I'd suggest trying to login using that. If you aren't asked the same security question then it may indeed suggest that your pc has been compromised.

It's not uncommon for a device that you use regularly to store some info so the fact that you aren't being asked for your email address may in actual fact be perfectly innocent.

This appears to have been going on for a few years going by a Google search :)  Did you give an alternative email address when you signed up for Hotmail? The security code will be there. Make sure the address in the browser bar is an https//: address to hotmail or Live.com.
Don't worry, be happy.

Carried it in full, then carry it out empty.
