Inchlaggan

Yes, a worthy cause.
But.......
They got called out to a boat stuck on the tree stumps at Inchlaggan a few years ago and turned up promptly but without a boat!
They called in an RAF helicopter who winched a man down into the two feet of water to push the boat off.
'til a voice as bad as conscience,
rang interminable changes,
on an everlasting whisper,
day and night repeated so-
"Something hidden, go and find it,
Go and look beyond the ranges,
Something lost beyond the ranges,
Lost and waiting for you,
Go."

Bobfly

Sounds like the squadrons sent to extract a Danish angler caught on an island in the North(?) Esk or somewhere nearby. Police, ambulance, coastguard, helicopter, road closure for some time ........... :( :(

I remember that one Vaughan, same thing happened to another angler within the week on the very same island !

Ye Canny Fry A Rise!

Yes, it was the Northie just up from Kinnaber road bridge. There have been two rescues in that area in recent years. The North Esk is like a west coast spate river except it's also big. The rate of rise can be spectacular. The West Water which is its main tributary is even more dangerous and rises even faster. I heard that a few weeks ago a pheasant rearing farm was pretty much destroyed by a flash spate that drowned most of the birds.
