The intake on the Ben Chonzie track takes off water and diverts it into the L Turret reservoir. Folks would be amazed if they knew how many miles of water diverting tunnels there are through the Scottish hills !!!
For hydro stuff there was a great wee book called Power From the Glens that shows the collection networks and diversions for all the national power generating schemes. In addition there is the huge spread of the Ft William network that even diverts all the upper Spey and turns it into the Spean.

Yes, I have a copy of both publications (old style paper !!). The first one has the catchment maps, and James Miller's book is stories of the dam builders themselves.

Try also "The Hydro Boys" by Emma Wood.
'til a voice as bad as conscience,
rang interminable changes,
on an everlasting whisper,
day and night repeated so-
"Something hidden, go and find it,
Go and look beyond the ranges,
Something lost beyond the ranges,
Lost and waiting for you,
Go."

I posted this in the evironment section:

Take a look if you want to see some fine demonstrations of the effect hydropower construction has had in the Balkans. And, more scarily, it shows a detailed map of planned sites, which appear rather numerous...
