Big Perseid meteor showers should give a good show of shooting stars this evening from 11pm through to 4am.
New moon only so skies should be darker and give better visibility.  Fingers crossed for a good view.  :D :D
The Space Station will be passing about 10.30

Is there a particular part of the sky/direction to look at?

Bobfly

They should be showing most areas as we are passing through debris from the Swift Tuttel comet, so shooting stars at a rate of about one hundred an hour should whizz across the sky. Lie back in a deckchair with a few beers in a place not contaminated with street lighting and glare. Just lie back and look up.  :D :D
Should be on show for about ten days but tonight and tomorrow night are forecast to be the best show.

Clear starry night here and five shooting stars over in ten minutes or so. Not the frequency forecast in the papers and mentioned on the late night news !!

Popped out the back garden for an hour just after midnight for a wee look. A bit slow to start with then seven in about ten minutes. I counted 12 in the hour but none were spectacular.

I'm heading up to Morar tomorrow night and I was hoping to catch the end of it.
