Interesting stuff Ken. I hope it all works out well in the end. At least the removal of the insane and destructive subsidies may spare  further devastation of your local environment.

When you look at what you are getting for your money the asking price of The Crask is  absolutely insane.  A few years ago my sister and brother in law bought a villa in a  rural Spanish village, well away from the pint of lager,  egg and chips ex-pat brigade.

They are the only foreigners there, they get on great with the locals and it's warm! The house overlooks olive groves and fields of almond trees. It cost them about £40K. They have spent a bit more getting it as they want it. The cost of living in Spain is peanuts.

If I was looking to spend £349,000 I know what I'd buy!   :8)

I am told that there has been over 50K knocked off the asking price for The Crask.

Should we chip in and buy it as the WFF Norhthern headquarters?

We could make it a  Site of Special Scientific Interest . Not the surrounding land the hotel & bothy alone.

I am still trying to get over the 6" pyramid of Swallow guano in the outside cludgie window shelf.

Wouldn't the bothy be a  Shite of Special Scientific Interest?

To the best of my knowledge, the Crask Inn is still on the market -  Bruce
