Another Williams bros ale to try if you like porter is Midnight Sun. Was my favourite buy from Tesco until they stopped stocking it last year in favour of the not so nice IMO Guiness porter.

This stuff is fantastic if your lucky enough to have a store that stocks it. My local store stopped and I don't know why as it was soon selling out when people discovered how good it was.

Aldi have a Scottish Beer Festival starting on Thursday 9th March.  Some nice tasty ales to be had, must get a few in for the Calcutta cup game on Saturday.

thanks for that pal see what its like, good to see a market for the wee brewers and its not like they are not brewing poor ales in fact most are far better, should be a hard fought calcutta cup ,worry for scotland is the match at twickenham and the long losing run there cheers andy m

Anyone passing through Edinburgh should pay a visit to the Beerhive in Bonnington; a cracking wee independent off-shop specialising in a wide range of ales http://www.thebeerhive.co.uk/

I came across this earlier in the week on another forum, a 1971 price list for draft ales [apparently from the Daily Mirror of 21st March 1971 six weeks after decimalisation]
