They wont do much in six months unless they use satellite images and drone footage to look at the land before sending people in to look at the areas already developed and then work into the areas under threat. Under the Scottish Government they will have a hard job stopping wind farms.

I believe we have seen the best of  our wild lands. The SNP have already said they intend to plant Scotland's uplands with blanket Sitka spruce under the umbrella of fighting "climate change".   Ah yes that good old, handy  catch-all justification! 

SNP member, mountaineer, TV host, writer and passionate supporter of independence Cameron McNeish recently quit the party in protest of what he described as the SNP's total failure to tackle conservation issues and their general appalling record on wildlife crime. He said the SNP plans to cover Scotland's hills and glens  in Sitka spruce was the last straw whilst describing Ian Blackford as a national embarrassment. 

I have never had much time for McNeish, but have to give at least some grudging respect  to anyone who stands up for what they believe in.

NCC/CCS/SNH/NatureScot already have baseline designation data and mapping of all subsequent windfarms. Also to be added in. ... dozens of micro hydro run of river schemes and telecom masts all with associated powersupply lines and access roads, then throw in moorland access tracks.
Not too much true wild land left, if there ever was !!!

They are all keen volunteers without professional skills in house to do this survey which is out to tender for some ecological or similar survey company to be awarded. Who is paying is undeclared.

That'll be interesting as Scottish Wildlife have been going round felling any non native trees they can lay a chain saw on.
