We should just call it insect fishing for trout ... dry, wet, numphy stuff ... whatever. Mind you, many wets are imitating pin fry and whatever !  So then, we should  just have Heavy metal, Popular, Jazz and Classical.   :D :D

I'm not knocking it, in fact it's a method I use a lot and very effective it is, but it's not  fly fishing.

Bait fishing with heavy insect imitations.   :lol:

Nymphs are baby flies, so it's technically fly fishing, even maggots would count, though I think if you turned up on a South of England chalk stream they will disagree lol.
