Hi Folks, Hope someone can give me a steer here. I have four pdf files that I need to attach to an email and send as soon as possible. One of the files is 28MB and another is  18MB. I am on a basic windows xp set up and can't send these due to the file size exceeding my email allowance. I've tried different email providers but can't find one that will allow me to send these docs due to size.

Does anyone know if an email provider that offers a facility for posting these or preferably  can I 'shrink' these in some way in order to post?

There is a stipulation that all four of these docs MUST be posted together on one email so I can't send separate.

Most importantly, If you can advise me please be aware that I am not at all conversant with computers or tech speak so you are aiming at 'CBeebies' level advice for me to follow it

Thanks
Jim

Use http://www.megafileupload.com/

Upload the files which produces a link, paste link into email and the other person then downloads it.

Thanks Bud, I'll have a look at that .

It appears that the PDF files I want to send have an interactive format and this is making it awkward to do certain things with them ?

Hmmm, so they have got to be in an actual email?

If Outlook, your email program, is old it is probably it that is stopping the attachment. Try another Email program like Thunderbird.

Yes, It is also part of a job application so probably not appropriate to send a link for recipient to open.

Outlook won't send it as it exceeds the size limit !

Hi Sandy, Do you know what the total size limit for emails with Thunderbird ?

You could try this

I found this.

"Thunderbird doesn't appear to impose any limit on the number of attachments or the maximum size of the attachment you can send in a message. Any limits are due to your e-mail provider or SMTP server."

I have sent 1GB files with Outlook Express on my XP system at home so I don't know why it isn't letting you send using it. I haven't tried any large attachments with Thunderbird which I use on this laptop.
