Title: Sandwood Bay
Post by: Fishtales on May 03, 2013, 10:28:30 AM
Remember the discussion about the guy in the bothy? Well it isn't the guy I knew but I found this book about him.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Highland-Hermit-ebook/dp/B004D4YB4K/ref=pd_rhf_pe_p_img_4_P9ND (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Highland-Hermit-ebook/dp/B004D4YB4K/ref=pd_rhf_pe_p_img_4_P9ND)

I found it an interesting and enjoyable read going into his history, how he came to be there, how he survived all alone, some information about the surrounding area and eventually his leaving and eventually his death.

Thanks Sandy, my brother in law once told me about this guy and I was intrigued, may well give this a read. Sandwood Bay is my sister and brother in law's absolute favourite place. Can see why too.

Got it, demolished it in an afternoon. I could not put it down. Yes there is a bit of padding in it, but it is a fascinating read. I would not have thought it possible for anyone to live like that in modern Scotland without being harassed and evicted.

I bought the Kindle copy  for the price of a fishing magazine and read it on my Samsung Galaxy tablet. Honestly,  there is no comparison in what you are getting for  your £3.20!

If you are into the hills and glens get this. I am sure you will enjoy it.  :D
