After careful consideration if I had to choose just two for the loch (one wet one dry) and two for river (one wet one dry) they would be
Loch :
Wet - Silver Invicta – a fly that never fails me
Dry – Claret Hopper
River:
Wet - Greenwells spider
Dry – Greenwells parachute
What about you?
Bandy –
Away an' bile yer heid! :D You have caught loads of fish on rivers in years past. You must know which flies did best. Interesting your choice of a black hopper. The other day I was fishing a black and a claret as a pair and took fish pretty much equally on both. I think it may be more the shape and these trailing legs than the colour. Pretty good all round imitative pattern, covering everything from buzzers, heather flies to daddies.

You've got to say that Pete it's the only two flees you've ever fished. Or at least you'd think this was the case
Their the only Flees I can tie more like
:D :D :D :D
Mainly rivers for me, and that usually means the Tyne in E Lothian...
wet, black pennell has outshone the rest this season,
day, a wee adams
On lochs I'd have to say Katie Mac has been my best wet and ma wee claret hopper, the best dry.
