Last rod I bought was a secondhand Chinese Maxcast BlackStar 4pc 9ft 6wt. Great wee rod and used every week by Mrs Bobfly.

Almost all my fishing this year has been with a Maxcatch Premier 4pc 9ft 4wt. Picked it up for £50 and it's as good if not better than some of my other rods that cost 5-8 times as much.

My other very low cost recent acquisition is a Leeda Volare IV 10ft 4wt. Superb boat rod and also from the bank with a 5DT floater line.
I forwarded on a fly box a chap had bought from the GAC and had them send to me. I put in a couple dozen of my big Irish flies and some others and sent on the box to Ireland and he sent me the rod as a swap. The rod arrived before his fly box which was held up in Dublin for a few days.
He didn't use the rod and I think its really excellent.
"Result" as they say these days.
