Title: suggestions for a couple of days away end of april
Post by: porrohman on March 25, 2010, 10:22:36 PM
hi

looking for some suggestions for a couple of days away at the end of april

4 of us from edinburgh are planning to head off for a boys trip but we`re not sure where,we are looking for somewhere thats got fishing without the hike to reach it as one of the lads is disabled and cant walk a great distance.accomodation wise we are looking for a hotel at a reasonable price preferably with a pool table in the bar so we can fleece the locals at night.(only joking)...distance is not too much of an issue 4 hours from edinburgh or so would be fine.

any thoughts most welcome

cheers ....martin

I think Lairg AC have the wheelie boat (bought by the KOS Fishery Trust a few years ago) on Loch Shin. The Kyle of Sutherland AA have a boat on Loch Buidhe, which is easy access, and you can get a boat on Loch Migdale through Rob Jones. Lairg AC have plenty boats on Loch Shin and some other lochs. If you want a good cheap base, Carbisdale Castle must be the most outrageously stunning youth hostel in Scotland. There's a variety of accommodation in Bonar Bridge and Lairg which would make good bases, with plenty fishing within an hour's drive.
