I was tying a bunch of cased caddis patterns yesterday that involved making really big deer hair dubbing loops. I have never really liked working with deer hair always finding it  an ?itchy? material, yesterday however the quantities handled were huge and I ended up  with red  steaming eyes that felt like they were full of hot sand. It lasted about ?  hour and was  not a pleasant experience.  Anybody else suffered allergic reactions to any  fly tying material?

Deer hair always does it to me, sneezing, red eyes etc.  I washed a patch in warm soapy water and that has sorted the problem.

It's more than likely caused by the anti-bug treatment.
Washing cq rinsing them thoroughly may be the trick and sort you out.

You might want to try one of Fachan's patches if he still has one left.
Great stuff anyway, superior quality.

I often get a sneezing fit at some time after beginning to tie flies. After a few sneezes it goes away and I'm fine to get on with tying.
No idea which material causes it.
