Mr Wyatt is probably going to kick me out of his fan club, but..................

I've been experimenting a little with the DHS. Instead of making a clipped head out of the hair roots, I've been tying them down and dubbing on a small head of Ice Dub (Lite Brite type material). I've not had a chance to try it on the fish yet, so any thoughts on how this type of variant might get on? It sure looks the business, especially the claret version with a head of mixed blue and claret Ice Dub.

On the subject of Lite Brite type material heads; I remember a style of bumble wet fly some years ago called the Blobby, I think. It was a standard palmered wet fly with a head of flashy dubbing that acted like a muddler head. Does anyone still use these or were they just a fad?

I still use the Kate MacLaren Easy muddler to good effect today, as standard Kate Muddler with Peacock Ice Dub (original more tranclucent Ice Dub) Head. Will post pic tomorrow.

My Kate MacLaren easy muddler as promised.

TAIL: GP Crest dyed Sunburst
BODY: Black Seals Fur
RIB: Silver Wire
BODY HACKLE: Metz Cock Saddle Hackle
HEAD HACKLE: Brown Metz Cock Saddle Hackle
HEAD: Peacock Ice Dub ( original stuff, not stuff Lakeland sell).

Excellent pattern to switch to if things are a bit slow.
